I started playing banjo in the early '70's after hearing Earl Scruggs's "Foggy Mtn. Breakdown." I was absolutely hammered by that. I got into a few bands in California and won the Malibu Mtn festival banjo contest in '75. Then I moved to Springfield, Mo and went to work with Radio Flyer. I stayed with that band for ten years and am now picking with Midnight Flight. We're a traditional sounding band with lots of originals. We do a single mic presentation with a lot of energy. I've always been affiliated with bands that did originals or unique arrangements of obscure Country or Rock and Roll songs. I love the old standards too. It took me twenty years but I've finally got in a band that it travelling around quite a bit and playing out a lot. We will work with Third Time Out and Doyle Lawson this month, (march 2001) and will also travel to Hugo, Ok. for the annual Early Bird Festival they have down there. Hope to see you at a festival. If you see me pickin' banjo with Midnight Flight, come up and tell me you saw my story here and we'll visit and drink a cup of coffee together!
